Alright, folks, let’s dive into the fun stuff – the updates for NBA 2K24! I’ve been playing this game non-stop since it dropped back on September 8th, and boy, have there been some changes. The developers have been busy, dropping patches left and right to make this game even better.

First, I gotta mention this crazy new thing they added – ProPLAY. It’s supposed to make the game look and feel even more like real NBA action. They took actual NBA footage and somehow used it to create the animations in the game. Pretty wild, right? It’s only on the newer consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X, though. I noticed some players move a bit more like their real-life counterparts. Not a game-changer, but a cool touch.
Now, about these patches. I feel like I’m updating the game every other week! I started on the PS5, so I’ll talk about those updates first. The first one I remember was Patch 1.02. I think that came out not long after the game’s release. There was also Patch 1.008. This one added support for Season 4, which launched on January 12th. Then there’s the big 1.2 update on September 14. This one touched pretty much every part of the game – MyCareer, MyTeam, The City, and a bunch of bug fixes. It was a hefty download, that’s for sure!
They didn’t forget about the older consoles, either. I know they rolled out updates for PS4 and Xbox One, too. But I can’t tell you all about them because I don’t have those consoles, just PS5.
Recently, around November 27th, there was another update. They said it was going to overhaul MyCareer mode. I haven’t noticed too many big changes, but maybe that’s just me. I did see something about them reducing the effectiveness of the “Cut to Basket Pass.” I guess it was a bit overpowered before, huh? I did notice it’s harder to pull off now.
What I Like
- The game feels smoother overall. The early patches fixed some annoying bugs that were messing up my games.
- The developers are listening to the community. They’re actively making changes based on what players are saying.
- ProPLAY is a neat idea, even if it’s subtle.
What I Don’t Like
- So many updates! It feels like I’m constantly downloading something.
- Some of the changes feel unnecessary. Like, why mess with the “Cut to Basket Pass” so much?
- I wish they’d focus more on fixing bigger issues instead of tweaking little things.
All in all, NBA 2K24 is a solid game, and it’s getting better with each update. I’m still having a blast playing it, even with all the patches. And you know what? I just saw that there was a WWE 2K24 patch 1.08 update that dropped! It added new wrestlers, entrances, and hardcore weapons! Man, these developers never sleep!
