Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my Triumph T100, trying to figure out ways to squeeze a little more juice out of it. The main thing I wanted to nail down was, “What even is the stock horsepower?” and “What am I working with here?”.So I am going to share my little discovery journey.

Digging for the Basics

First things first, I scoured the internet for the factory specs. I must have gone my bike’s handbook and other several * took a minute, but it seems like the general consensus is that a stock T100 puts out somewhere in the neighborhood of like 54-65 horsepower at the crank.

    That’s all well and good, but what does that translate to at the wheel, where it actually matters,you know?

Getting My Hands Dirty(or not)

I wanted to testing the horsepower out myself. Ideally, I would have loved to strap my bike onto a dyno – one of those fancy machines that measures horsepower at the wheel. It is a bit of an * would give me the real, no-BS number.

So, dyno run being the dream and also being a little expensive, I’ve been relying on a bunch of articles and forum posts from other T100 owners.

Putting It All Together

What I’ve gathered from my deep dive into the internet, is that a stock T100, after accounting for drivetrain losses, probably puts down somewhere between 50-55 horsepower at the rear * you do not *’s not a rocket ship, for sure, but it’s decent for that classic, laid-back riding style the T100 is all about.

And then my mind went crazy,I am gonna upgrade it!

Armed with this baseline knowledge, I start to look into some basic mods – exhaust, air filter, maybe a *’s the fun part, right?

Anyways that’s just my little experience of digging into my T100’s * will be a long way to go!
