Today, I went to play golf and I decided to try out the Kirkland 3-piece golf balls. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about them, especially since they’re way cheaper than the big-name brands. So, I thought, “Why not give them a shot?”

First off, I headed to Costco because that’s where everyone says you can snag these Kirkland balls. I found them in the sports section, and sure enough, they were a steal compared to what you’d pay for Titleist or Callaway. I grabbed a couple of boxes – can’t beat that price!
Preparation
Before hitting the course, I did a little digging online. It seems like these Kirkland balls are made by a company in China called Qingdao SM Parker. Apparently, they’re not some fancy new technology developed from scratch by Costco. They’re actually subcontracted, like a lot of Kirkland stuff. Whatever, as long as they do the job.
Hitting the Green
- I teed up with my driver and gave the Kirkland ball a whack. Honestly, it felt pretty good coming off the club. I didn’t notice a huge difference compared to the more expensive balls I usually play with.
- I used the Kirkland 3-piece the whole round and made a note of its performance. It was reliable and felt similar to a premium ball.
- My average drive with these balls was around 250 yards, which is about what I usually hit. My longest drive of the day was 266 yards with the Kirkland ball. Not too shabby.
- For my iron shots, I was getting around 160-165 yards, which is pretty standard for me. They felt decent on the approach shots too.
Wrap-Up
All in all, I’d say the Kirkland 3-piece balls are definitely worth trying out, especially if you’re looking to save some cash. They performed well, and I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing much in terms of distance or control. I know there was some lawsuit about them and Titleist, but honestly, for the average golfer, I think these balls are a great deal. I’ll probably pick up a few more boxes next time I’m at Costco. They get the job done without breaking the bank!
