This year, that football game, you know, the Super Bowl, it’s a big deal. Everybody’s talkin’ ’bout it. And them Cardinals, well, they ain’t done too good in the past. They been around a long, long time, since way back in 1898, that’s what they say. Oldest team in the whole darn league, that NFL. But they ain’t got much to show for it, you see?
They used to be in Chicago. Then they went to St. Louis and now the Arizona Cardinals are in Phoenix. They call them the Arizona Cardinals now. Won somethin’ back in 1925, and then again in 1947, but that was before the Super Bowl was even a thing. Before my time, even! Since that Super Bowl started, nothin’. Zip. Nada.
They say this year, 2024, they got a shot. Maybe. But they gotta get movin’, you know? 4 wins and 13 losses last year, in 2022. Not so hot. Some other teams, like them Seahawks and Commanders and Falcons, they’re doin’ better. That’s what they’re sayin’ at least.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ them Cardinals got a chance, ranked 12th best or somethin’ for the Super Bowl. But then other folks, the ones who bet money on these things, they ain’t so sure. They put ’em at 17th. Don’t sound too good, does it?

Before the season started, folks were bettin’ on ’em, givin’ ’em good odds, whatever that means. +10000, they said. Now it’s +15000. Sounds like it’s gettin’ worse to me.
Folks ain’t goin’ to their games like they used to. The stadium is, well, it ain’t new. Over 21 years old now! They need to do somethin’ to get people excited. Win some games, maybe!
That Super Bowl, it’s a big deal. Everyone wants to win it. But them Cardinals, they got a long way to go. They better get their act together if they wanna see that big game. It’s a long shot, I tell ya. They say there is still time for the Cardinals to make a playoff push. Well, they better hurry up. Time is runnin’ out. It’s already November 2024!
I remember when they were in Chicago. My grandpa used to talk about ’em. He’d say, “Them Cardinals, they’re a tough bunch.” But tough ain’t enough these days. You gotta be good, too. Really good.
This Super Bowl, everyone’s gonna be watchin’. Millions of people, all over the world. It’s a big stage. You gotta be ready for it. You gotta be prepared.
These Cardinals, they got some good players. I’ve seen ’em on TV. They can run fast, throw that ball far. But somethin’s missin’. They ain’t playin’ together like they should.

It takes more than just one or two good players to win that Super Bowl. It takes a whole team. Everyone workin’ together, pullin’ in the same direction. Like a good team of horses, you know?
I hope they do it. I really do. It’d be nice to see them Cardinals win that Super Bowl. It’d be somethin’ to talk about, that’s for sure. Somethin’ to tell the grandkids about. “I remember when them Cardinals won the Super Bowl,” I’d say. “It was a great day.”
But they gotta get to work. They gotta practice hard. They gotta play smart. And they have to win games. A lot of games. It ain’t gonna be easy. Nothin’ worth havin’ ever is.
This Super Bowl, it’s comin’ up soon. Not too far away now. February. That’s when it is. We’ll see what happens. We’ll see if them Cardinals can make a run for it. We’ll see if they can make some noise. We’ll see if the Arizona Cardinals are good.
