So, I really wanted to go to the F1 race in Vegas this year. I’ve always been a huge fan, and Vegas seemed like the perfect place to finally see a race in person. I started by checking out the ticket situation online. Man, those things are not cheap!

First things first, I had to decide what kind of experience I wanted. Did I want to be in the thick of it with a grandstand seat, or was general admission good enough? After looking at the prices, general admission was looking pretty good. I saw that single-day passes were going for around $150, and three-day passes started at $600. That’s still a lot of money, but way better than the grandstand prices.

I dug a little deeper into the grandstand options, just to see what I was missing out on. Three-day tickets in those areas were ranging from $1,800 to a whopping $2,750! Yeah, reserved seating and better views are cool, but not that cool. I did notice some “official partner” ticket packages going for $12,500 a pop. Apparently, those come with fancy food from famous chefs, special cocktails, and pop-up performances. Sounds fun, but my wallet was screaming “no way!”.

Then I tried to figure out where the best place to watch the race would be.

  • From what I read, the west side of the Las Vegas Strip seemed like a prime spot.
  • There’s a fence right by the casinos like Caesar’s Palace, Bellagio, and Cosmopolitan that gets you super close to the track.

I also learned that the Ascari Grandstands, and Grandstands 18, 19, and 20, are supposed to have great views of turns 9 and 10. And if you want to be near the start and finish lines, well, those are other good options, but probably even more expensive.

In the end, I decided to go for a general admission three-day pass. I booked it early, hoping to snag a decent price. I’m still figuring out exactly where I’ll try to watch the race from within the general admission areas, but I’ve got some time to plan that out. I might try to get near that fence on the west side of the Strip, or maybe find a spot with a good view of a turn. We’ll see! Anyway, I’m super excited. I finally get to experience the thrill of F1 in person, and in Vegas, no less! It’s going to be awesome, even if my bank account is a little lighter now.
