Okay, so yesterday I decided to mess around with this “Dutch Hollow” thing I’d heard about. I’ve been seeing it pop up in a few places, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I didn’t really know what to expect, so I just dove in headfirst.

First, I looked up some basic info. I wanted to get a general idea of what I was getting myself into. Turns out, it’s kind of a broad term, it apply in many aspect. I tried to use it for making hollow part of my model.
Then, I prepare the model for 3d printing, loaded up the model that I was working on.
- I selected the area, I use the selection tools to mark off the section.
- I made the outer shell. The software basically created a copy of the selected surface.
- I adjusted some settings. I messed around with the wall thickness, offset distance. It took a few tries to get it looking right.
Finally,I saved to STL file,I am pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but for a first attempt, I’ll take it!.
