So, I finally got around to checking out the Auglaize Golf Club. You know, I’ve been hearing about this place for a while now, and it’s always been on my list of courses to try. It’s out there in Defiance, Ohio, a bit of a drive, but hey, that’s part of the adventure, right?

First off, I grabbed my phone and looked up some basic info on the place. Turns out, it’s a public course, par 72, and stretches about 6,400 yards. Not too shabby. They also mentioned a full-service bar and restaurant, which, you know, is always a plus after a long day on the course. I also found out that the Auglaize River pretty much wraps around the front nine. Sounded pretty scenic to me.
I started digging a bit more. Found some reviews and articles. Seems like a lot of people really enjoy the course. I even stumbled upon some random facts about other golf spots, like the Stonehaven Golf Club in Scotland and the Old Course at St Andrews. Tiger Woods loves that one, apparently. Anyway, back to Auglaize.
I hopped in my car and made the drive out there. Let me tell you, the place didn’t disappoint. The front nine, just like they said, is surrounded by the river. It’s a really nice setting, makes you feel like you’re out in nature. I grabbed my clubs and, of course, my trusty golf GPS app. Gotta have those distances, right? Plus, it’s great for keeping score and tracking shots. Technology, gotta love it.
I played a full round. The course is well-maintained, the greens were in good shape. It’s a pretty standard layout, but the river adds a nice touch. I wouldn’t say it’s the most challenging course I’ve ever played, but it’s definitely enjoyable. After the round, I hit up the bar and restaurant. Got myself a burger and a cold drink. It was the perfect way to cap off the day. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Just what you want after a round of golf.
All in all, I had a great time at Auglaize Golf Club. It’s a solid course with a beautiful setting, good food, and a friendly vibe. If you’re ever in the Defiance area and looking for a place to play, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. It’s not one of those world-famous courses, but sometimes those hidden gems are the best kind, you know? You get to just enjoy the game without all the fuss.

So yeah, that was my day at Auglaize. Good times. Onto the next course!
