Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Go lately, and I saw this “Whispers in the Woods” event pop up. Sounded spooky and fun, so I figured, why not? Let’s dive in!

Getting Started
First thing I did was open up the app, obviously. I made sure I had a good internet connection, because nothing’s worse than trying to catch something rare and having the game freeze up. I also grabbed my portable charger – gotta keep that battery alive for a long session, you know?
The Hunt Begins
I stepped outside, and right away, I noticed the special event spawns. Lots of Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon were hanging around, which is pretty cool. I’m not a huge fan of bugs, but I even saw a few more bug-types than usual, it fit in with the theme.
- Caught a bunch of Shuppet: These little guys were everywhere! Not super rare, but always good for candy.
- Found a couple of Duskull: I like Duskull, so I was happy to see a few floating around.
- Saw a Misdreavus: These are cool pokemon to collect, even it is not shiny.
The Special Research
The event had some Special Research tasks, which are like little missions you complete. Things like “Catch 10 Ghost-type Pokemon” or “Spin 5 PokeStops.” Nothing too crazy, pretty standard stuff. It’s a good way to get some extra items and encounters, though.
I spent a couple of hours just wandering around my neighborhood, hitting up PokeStops and catching everything that popped up. I even used a couple of Incense to attract more Pokemon to me. I usually save those for special occasions.
The Highlight
The best part? I finally caught a shiny pokemon! I’ve been hunting for a while, and it was a really great feeling, even though I just use it for collection.

Wrapping Up
After a few hours, my feet started to get tired, and my phone battery was starting to dip into the red. I figured it was time to head home. Overall, I had a pretty good time with the “Whispers in the Woods” event. Nothing groundbreaking, but a fun way to spend an afternoon catching some spooky Pokemon. I’d say it was a success!
