Okay, so I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, and today I finally got around to setting up a proper comparison between Independiente del Valle and LDU Quito. I’m a huge football fan, and these two teams have a pretty interesting rivalry, so I wanted to dig into the stats and see what’s what.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed data. Lots of it. I spent a good chunk of the morning scouring the web for match results, player stats, historical data – you name it. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest, jumping between different websites and trying to make sense of it all.
Cleaning Up the Mess
Once I had a decent pile of information, the real fun began. I dumped everything into a giant spreadsheet. Oh boy, was that ugly! Data all over the place, different formats, inconsistencies… It took a solid couple of hours just to wrangle it into something manageable. I had to standardize dates, fix typos, and deal with missing information. It was tedious, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
Analyzing the Data
With the data finally cleaned up, I could start actually analyzing it. I focused on a few key things:
- Head-to-head results: Who wins more often? Are there a lot of draws?
- Goals scored: Which team is more offensive? Which one has a tighter defense?
- Home and away performance: Does either team have a significant advantage at home?
- Player statistics:If condiction has, I will find out the key players of the teams.
I played around with different ways of visualizing the data, making charts and graphs to see if any patterns emerged. It was pretty cool to see the numbers start to tell a story.
Final result
I’ll spare you all the nitty-gritty details, but I’ll can say that the data show to find out the * I will keep doing and improve my record and analysis methods.
