They say he’s a pinball wizard. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy. Must be real good at flippin’ those little silver balls around. Heard he even beat some champion fella. Imagine that, our Tommy, beatin’ a champion!
Tommy’s Story
This Tommy fella, he’s got a story, I tell ya. Heard he saw somethin’ awful when he was just a little tyke. Somethin’ about his daddy. Poor kid. After that, he couldn’t hear, couldn’t see, couldn’t talk. Just shut down, like a broken toy.
But then, somethin’ happened. He found that pinball machine. And somethin’ just clicked. He started playin’, and playin’, and playin’. Got so good, folks started callin’ him that wizard fella.

This Tommy Robredo, he’s a real inspiration, I tell ya. Shows that even when things are tough, you can still find somethin’ you’re good at. Somethin’ that makes you happy. And he shows that you can be really, really good at somethin’ even if you can’t see it, can’t hear it, can’t talk about it.
Heard they made a movie about him, too. Must be somethin’, huh? A movie about a kid who can’t hear, can’t see, can’t talk, but can play pinball like nobody’s business.
I don’t know much about that rock and roll music, but I heard they sing about him too. That Tommy fella, from that band, The Who. They say it’s a whole opera about him. A rock opera. Don’t know what that is, but it sounds important.
The Who’s Tommy
The Who, they’re a big deal, I guess. Heard their music on the radio sometimes. Loud, but kinda catchy. And they’re singin’ about our Tommy. That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
This whole thing, it’s just got me thinkin’. About how life can be strange sometimes. How somethin’ bad can happen, but then somethin’ good can come out of it. Like this Tommy fella. He went through somethin’ terrible, but he found his thing. That pinball thing.

Heard them talkin’ about some year, 1921, havin’ somethin’ to do with it. Don’t know what that’s all about. But it must be important, ’cause they keep sayin’ it.
This whole story, it’s just amazing. This Tommy Robredo, the pinball wizard, deaf, dumb, and blind, playin’ that machine like it’s an extension of himself. It’s like he’s one with the machine.
And folks are just linin’ up to see him. They’re amazed by him. He’s a celebrity, I guess. A pinball celebrity. Who would’ve thought?
Amazing Journey
