Alright, so the Texas Children’s Houston Open finished up recently, and like I often do after these tournaments, I got curious about the money side of things. You know, who got paid what. So, I decided to look it up.

First thing I did was just open up my browser. Didn’t need anything fancy. I went straight to my usual search engine.
Typed in something simple, probably like “houston open 2024 prize money breakdown” or maybe “texas children’s houston open payout results”. Something along those lines. Hit enter and waited for the results to pop up.
Got a bunch of links back, as you’d expect. Some were just news headlines about the winner, which wasn’t exactly what I needed right then. I scrolled past those.
Finding the Actual Numbers
I was looking for a page that specifically listed the purse distribution. Usually, the official PGA Tour site has this, or sometimes big sports news outlets like ESPN or CBS Sports compile it nicely.
- I clicked on one or two links that looked promising.
- One might have just been a summary, but I kept looking.
- Finally landed on a page – I think it might have been the PGA Tour’s own results page, or perhaps a trusted golf news site – that had the full list.
There it was. A nice table or list showing the total purse for the tournament first. Then it broke it down player by player, based on where they finished.

Saw the winner’s hefty check at the top, naturally. Quite a nice payday! Then it showed second place, third, and so on, all the way down to the players who just made the cut. It’s always interesting to see how that money gets divided up. The amount drops off, sure, but even making the cut gets you something.
So yeah, that was pretty much it. Didn’t take too long. Just a quick search, a few clicks, and I had the payout information I was curious about. Satisfied my curiosity for the day on that front.
