Okay, so, I’ve been grinding Valorant lately, and I’ve been keeping a close eye on the ranked system. One thing that I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out is when exactly the ranks reset.
First off, I jumped into the game and started playing a bunch of matches. I noticed that at the end of each Act, my rank got reset. But, here’s the good part: I just needed to play one match, and boom, my rank was back, pretty much where it was before. Nice and easy.
But then, a new Episode started. This is where things got a bit more involved. I had to play five placement matches to get my rank back. Yeah, five whole matches! It felt like a bit of a grind, but it’s all good. I guess it’s their way of making sure everyone’s still up to snuff.
Here’s what I found out about the timing:
- Acts: From my experience, these seem to reset your rank every two months or so. Just play one match after the reset, and you’re good to go.
- Episodes: This is the big one. Episodes come around every 3-4 months, and this is when you gotta do those five placement matches.
I also tried to get into ranked right after an Episode started. No problems there! You can jump into the ranked queue immediately after doing your placements.
So, to sum it up, I played through several Acts and an Episode to really get a feel for it. It’s not too complicated once you get the hang of it. Keep track of those Acts and Episodes, and you’ll be golden. The main thing to remember is that a new Act is just one match to get your rank back, but a new Episode means you gotta put in a bit more work with those five placement matches. Oh, and from what I saw, ranks like Platinum, Diamond, Ascendant, and Immortal all follow the same reset rules.
