Alright, let’s talk about what I did in Baldur’s Gate 3 the other day. You know that part where you stumble into the goblin camp? Yeah, that one, right after the mountain pass. There’s this goblin, Gronag, who’s messing around with a hyena and a bone.

So, Gronag’s idea of fun is to see if the shadow curse is as bad as everyone says. He chucks a bone towards the cursed area, trying to get the hyena to fetch it. Now, if you just stand there and watch, the hyena’s gonna run into the shadows and, well, get cursed. Not cool, right?
Here’s what I did: I stepped in before the poor thing could get hurt. I had a little chat with Gronag. You just gotta find the option that says something like, “One last thing – go and fetch the bone you threw.” I made him go get the bone himself. Serves him right, huh? He ends up getting cursed, but hey, at least the hyena’s safe.
- First, you find Gronag near the shadow curse area.
- Then you stop him before the hyena gets hurt.
- You tell him to fetch the bone himself.
After that whole mess, I turned my attention to the hyena. It’s still hanging around, probably confused as heck. You can actually talk to it. I used the “Speak with Animals” thing, but I think you can still manage without it. You just gotta pass a couple of those ability checks, you know, the dice rolls. Anyway, I sweet-talked the hyena into ditching those nasty goblins. It took some convincing, but it worked! The hyena finally wanders off, hopefully to a better life, far away from cursed lands and idiot goblins.
That’s pretty much it.
I saved a hyena and got a goblin cursed. Just another day in Baldur’s Gate 3, I guess.
