Yesterday, I watched a movie called “Napoleon.” It was a big Hollywood movie, you know, with the famous director Ridley Scott. I heard it got some mixed reviews, but I was still curious. So, I grabbed some popcorn, got comfy on my couch, and hit play.

The movie starts, and it’s all about this guy, Napoleon, who’s supposed to be this famous general or something. There were some battle scenes, but honestly, they were kind of boring. I was more interested in the story of him and this woman, Josephine.
- I started digging around for some info about the actors. I found some basic stuff, like where they were born and what other movies they’ve been in. Nothing too juicy.
- Then, I got curious about the historical accuracy of the movie. Was Napoleon really like that? Did he and Josephine actually have that kind of relationship? I read a few articles online, but a lot of it was just people arguing about whether the movie got it right or not.
Anyway, there’s this one scene that everyone’s been talking about. It’s a sex scene between Napoleon and Josephine. I was like, “Okay, let’s see what the fuss is all about.”
I watched the scene, and honestly, it was pretty awkward. It wasn’t sexy or romantic, just kind of weird. It felt like they were trying to make it shocking, but it just came off as uncomfortable. I’ve seen way better, and more realistic, sex scenes in other movies.
The next day, I went to the internet.
I searched for some reviews and discussions about the movie. I wanted to see what other people thought of that scene and the movie in general.
- I found a bunch of websites where people rate and review movies. Some people loved the movie, some hated it, and most were somewhere in between. The sex scene was definitely a point of contention.
- I also checked out some streaming service websites to see if they had any behind-the-scenes stuff or interviews with the cast and crew. I thought maybe they’d talk about the making of that scene, but no luck.
After all that, I realized that the scene, and maybe the whole movie, was just not my cup of tea. I was hoping for something more engaging, maybe with a bit more historical accuracy or at least a more interesting take on the characters.

I guess it wasn’t a total waste of time. I learned a bit about Napoleon and Josephine, even if it was just surface-level stuff. And I got to exercise my research skills, even though I didn’t find anything groundbreaking.
But yeah, I probably wouldn’t recommend the movie to my friends, especially not for that awkward sex scene. There are plenty of other movies out there that do a better job of portraying intimate relationships, or just telling a good story in general. You know? Like those exploitation films back in the 70s. Some of them are pretty interesting and show some history about sexual.
