Alright, so let’s talk about those Cincinnati Reds tickets I snagged. It all started when I decided I just had to catch a game at the Great American Ball Park. I mean, who doesn’t love a good baseball game, right?
First thing I did was hop on my phone and try to put one ticket for section 136 in my cart via the Reds app. That was easy. But I did some digging around the web, just to see what the deal was with ticket prices this year. Turns out, the average ticket price for a Reds game in 2023 was about 25 bucks. That’s a bit more than it used to be, but hey, it’s baseball.
Now, I thought about printing my tickets at home, you know, like the old days. But then I found out they don’t do that anymore. It’s all about security and cutting down on ticket fraud, which makes sense. So, it’s all digital now, which I’m cool with.
So, the day of the event, the tickets showed up on the ‘Home’ tab of the MLB Ballpark app on my phone. You can also check them out before the event day by hitting the ‘Tickets’ tab on the bottom. I gotta say, it was pretty smooth. No paper, no fuss.
Then, I started thinking about where to grab a bite before the game. I remembered seeing something about a place called The Filson, which is supposed to be some fancy sports bar between the Great American Ballpark and Paycor Stadium. I didn’t actually go there, but it sounded like a decent option for a pre-game meal.
While I was looking around, I also saw some folks talking about other places to buy tickets, like SeatGeek. Some of those tickets were going for over 150 bucks! I know the Reds are doing better, but that’s a bit steep, if you ask me.
Here’s a little tip I picked up: apparently, the best time to buy is right now, while there are still a good amount available. But even if you wait until the day of the game, it’s not the end of the world. Prices usually don’t get too crazy.
I ended up using this site called Gametime. They have this lowest price guarantee and even show you photos from the seats. And get this, you can even buy tickets after the game starts! That’s pretty wild.
And that’s pretty much how I ended up with my Reds tickets. It was a bit of a process, but I’m all set now and stoked for the game. Baseball, here I come!
