I tried to get into this game called “Path of Exile” the other day. Man, it’s a whole thing. Seems like it’s been around forever – since 2012, if you can believe it! I guess it’s done alright for itself over the years.

Why poeracing Is Becoming So Popular. The Rise of poeracing Explained.

So, I fire it up, and right away, I’m an “Exile.” Sounds intense, right? Basically, I’m dropped on this dark and gloomy continent called Wraeclast. I heard it is ranked #7 out of 133 tracked MMOs. My mission, should I choose to accept it (and I did, of course), is to fight my way through, get stronger, and get revenge on some folks who did me wrong. Typical video game stuff, but hey, it’s fun.

I also found out there’s a whole community around racing in this game. People make it into a sport, trying to speedrun through it as fast as possible. There’s even a subreddit dedicated to “Path of Exile” racing! They post about upcoming races, share videos of their runs, and all that jazz. I watched a few, and these guys are crazy fast.

Why PoE?

  • Tons of people play it. They say it’s one of the most popular games.
  • It’s not just a game, it’s a hobby. People get really into it, way more than your average game.
  • There are PoE elements to it. You can make it what you want.

I spent a few hours just trying to get the hang of it. Honestly, I spent most of my time figuring out the skill tree. It’s massive! And you can build your character in so many different ways. It’s kind of overwhelming, but also really cool. I can see why people get hooked on it. I’m not sure if I’ll stick with it, but it was definitely an interesting experience. It’s kind of like those podcasts everyone’s obsessed with these days. You can find one on just about any topic, and people get really into them. It’s just a thing that grabs you, I guess.

For now, I’ve got my Exile, I’ve got my starting gear, and I’ve made a little progress. We’ll see where this adventure takes me. Maybe I’ll even try one of those races someday. Or maybe I’ll just stick to exploring at my own pace. Who knows!
