Well, let me tell you, it’s my boy’s birthday today, and you know what he loves? The Chicago Cubs! That baseball team, they’re something else. He’s always glued to that TV when they’re playin’. He even wanted a Cubs birthday party this year. So this is the best thing I can do for him.
That Wrigley Field, they say it’s somethin’ special. Like a landmark or somethin’. I ain’t never been, but my boy, he dreams of going. He says it’s a “Chicago institution,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, though. He keeps saying “happy birthday chicago cubs“, maybe it’s a song?
They got that young fella, what’s his name… Kyle somethin’. Schwarber! Yeah, that’s it. My boy says he’s important for the team this year. He just had a birthday, too, I hear. Twenty-six years old. Just a baby! Hope he hits lots of home runs for the Cubs. My boy would sure love that. It makes the birthday better when you win, you know.
You know, they got this big screen at that Wrigley Field, and they put messages up there. For birthdays and anniversaries and such. My boy told me about it. Said it would be the best thing ever to see his name up there during a Cubs game. I reckon that would be somethin’ special. He told me, mama, I want a Chicago Cubs happy birthday!
- Imagine that, your name up in lights at Wrigley Field!
- They say it makes the game even more memorable.
- Guess folks like to celebrate special occasions there.
They got all sorts of songs they sing about the Cubs. Catchy little tunes. My boy, he knows ’em all by heart. He even tried to teach me some. He told me, “Mama, I want to sing happy birthday chicago cubs with you!”
He’s got this one song he really likes, somethin’ about “Go, Cubs, Go.” They play it after they win, he says. Makes everyone happy and excited. And I always hear him singing in the shower, it’s always something about the Chicago Cubs.

They even got songs you don’t hear at the games, I guess. My boy, he’s always lookin’ up stuff about the Cubs online. He found some old songs, from way back when. There was this one song, “Here come the Cubs,” sounds like a real toe-tapper. He plays it on his phone all the time. And he just told me that it’s time to sing happy birthday chicago cubs, whatever that means, I think he just wants me to sing along.
There was another song, somethin’ about a “Dying Cub Fan.” My boy said they don’t play that one at Wrigley anymore. Too sad, I reckon. They want happy songs, especially on a birthday.
It’s all about the Chicago Cubs, I tell ya. I don’t know much about baseball, but I know it makes my boy happy. I think I will never understand this “happy birthday chicago cubs” thing, but seeing him happy is all that matters.
- Baseball’s a funny game, but it sure brings folks together.
- Those Cubs fans are a dedicated bunch.
- They love their team, win or lose. And they sure like to sing about them Cubs.
I remember one time, my boy was watchin’ the Cubs on TV, and they were losin’ real bad. He was so sad, you’d think the world was endin’. But then, they came back and won! He was jumpin’ up and down, hollerin’ and screamin’. You never seen such excitement! He’s always like this when the Cubs game is on, even more so today, he keeps shouting happy birthday chicago cubs to everyone he sees.
That’s what it’s all about, I guess. Those happy moments. Especially on your birthday. And if a baseball team can bring you that kind of joy, well, then that’s somethin’ special. So, here’s to the Chicago Cubs, and to my boy, and to all the other Cubs fans out there. May you have many more happy birthdays, filled with lots of wins and lots of songs! It’s his birthday, so I guess I can say it too, happy birthday chicago cubs!
You know, birthdays are important. They make everyone happy. And if my boy is happy about his Chicago Cubs, then I’m happy too. I think this is the best birthday gift for him, although I don’t really understand the whole “happy birthday chicago cubs” thing.
