Alright, so I got this game, F1 2018. I’ve been itching to really get into the career mode, you know? Like, start from the bottom and work my way up. That’s the dream, right?

I’m playing on Xbox and I’ve got this elite controller. Feels pretty good in my hands. The first big question I had was, “Which team should I start with?” There are so many options, and picking the right one felt super important. I mean, it’s gonna be where I’ll be spending a lot of my time. After hemming and hawing, I finally decided to go with Manor. Yeah, they’re not the best, but that’s the point, isn’t it? Starting from the bottom.
Then came the whole thing with resource points. I was like, “What do I do with these?” I started poking around, reading up a bit. Turns out, these are crucial for developing the car. You gotta be smart about how you spend ’em. I made a few mistakes at first, spreading them too thin. But I quickly learned that it’s better to focus on a couple of key areas.
- First thing I did was dump a bunch of points into the Power Unit. Felt like a good move, and boy, did it make a difference on the straights.
- Next up, I started working on the Chassis. Handling is key, especially on those tight corners. Took a while to really feel the improvement, but once I did, it was like night and day.
And assists, oh boy, don’t even get me started on assists. The game has so many options. I spent a good chunk of time just messing around with different settings. Traction control, braking assist, the whole nine yards. At first, I was a bit stubborn, wanted to play with everything off. But man, it’s tough! I eventually caved and turned a few on, just to get a better feel for the car.
Another thing I discovered early on was the different driving views. You can switch between them with a press of a button. I spent a whole afternoon just testing them all out. The cockpit view is pretty immersive, but I found myself gravitating towards the T-cam view. Just felt right, you know? Gave me a better sense of the track and where my car was positioned.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with F1 2018. Still a long way to go, still a lot to learn. But I’m having a blast. It’s a grind, for sure, but a good one. Each race feels like a new challenge, a new opportunity to prove myself. And with each upgrade, each tweak to the car, I feel like I’m getting a little bit closer to the top.

My main takeaway so far?
- Patience is key. This isn’t some arcade racer. You gotta take your time, learn the tracks, learn the car.
- Resource management is a big deal. Don’t just throw points at everything. Think about what your car really needs.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment. Find the settings, the view, the assists that work for you.
Alright, that’s it for now. Gonna get back to the grind. Wish me luck!
