Okay, so today I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Michael Penix Jr.’s combine performance. I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz, so I figured I’d check it out myself.

Digging into the Data
First, I Pulled up some articles and a few videos to get the basic numbers.
Looked like this:
- 40-Yard Dash:This seems to be a big one. I found he ran a 4.5 at pro day.
- Vertical Jump:Also Saw he had good show there.
- Broad Jump: Same as Vertical Jump.
- Shuttle & 3-Cone: I saw someone said he didn’t do these.
Watching the Tapes
Then,I watched Penix’s throwing drills. Man, that arm is something else! The ball just explodes out of his hand. I focused on his footwork too – seemed pretty smooth, and he was driving through his throws well. I tried to compare it to some other QBs I’ve watched recently, and the difference in arm strength was clear.
My Final Take
I Spent the good part of an hour watching, and I came away pretty impressed. The guy can make the throws. I’m not gonna I get all the hype.
