Today, I wanna talk about something a little different, a jockey named Ricardo Santana. I was reading some news the other day, and this guy’s name kept popping up.

First, I stumbled upon an article saying this Ricardo Santana Jr. dude was gonna serve time, like, a whole week in some jail in Kentucky. Can you believe that? A jockey in the slammer! Naturally, I was like, “What the heck did this guy do?”
Then I dug a bit deeper, started to get into it. Apparently, he’s been riding for this big-shot trainer, Steve Asmussen, and there’s some drama there. I guess their assistant trainer, Scott Blasi, got into some hot water, and somehow Santana got caught up in it. They were talking about a suspension and all that jazz. Messy stuff.
- I was kinda surprised, to be honest. You always see these jockeys on TV, all smiles and winning races. You don’t really think about the behind-the-scenes stuff, you know?
But then, I found out that Santana’s gonna have a new agent, some guy named Jimmy Riccio, for the races at Churchill Downs. So, I guess he’s trying to turn things around, get a fresh start. Good for him, I suppose. He seems to be good at what he does.
- I even read that he was the top earner at some racetrack called Oaklawn Park. Dude raked in over a million bucks! That’s some serious cash. He’s clearly a talented rider, no doubt about it.
And from the pictures I saw, the guy’s always smiling. Even after all this trouble, he’s still got that grin. I guess that’s the spirit of a jockey, always looking forward to the next race.
Then I got a bit sidetracked and learned that there is a company called Ricardo plc. They do some “Environmental and Energy Transition” stuff. It is all about investment.

And to top it off, there’s a soccer player also named Ricardo Santana. I was reading all these soccer news, updates, rumors. My brain was all over the place!
So many Ricardo Santanas!
I even saw something about an AI event that some team attended. Honestly, it was a wild ride, jumping from one Ricardo Santana to another. It started with a jockey in jail and ended up with soccer news and AI.
Just goes to show, you never know where a simple name can take you on the internet. You start with one thing, and before you know it, you’re down a rabbit hole of random information. Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. Hope you found it at least a little bit interesting!
