So, I’ve been digging into the Scottish Open lately, trying to get a handle on the odds. It’s a big deal, you know, with some of the top golfers in the world teeing off at The Renaissance Club. First thing I did was to check out who’s playing. Rory McIlroy is back, which is huge. I read somewhere he took a break after the U.S. Open because of his putting, but now he’s ready to go in Scotland. That immediately piqued my interest. Then, I started looking at some of the other names.
Diving into the Odds
I spent a good chunk of time looking at odds from different places. I saw some interesting stuff, like Erik Van Rooyen at +7500 to win and +700 for a top 10 finish. That seemed like a pretty good deal to me, so I jotted that down. I also noticed Aaron Rai at +5500, and it said somewhere that he’s played well at The Renaissance Club before.
Looking for Expert Opinions
I didn’t want to just go off my own gut, so I started reading what some of the golf experts were saying. There’s this one expert, Diane Knox Balas, who seems to know her stuff. I found her picks and predictions, and she had some interesting insights.
Considering Past Performances
One thing I always like to do is look back at how players have performed at the course in the past. I saw that Tom Kim has done really well at The Renaissance Club, with a T-6 last year and a third-place finish in 2022. His odds are +2500, so that’s something I’m definitely keeping in mind.
Making My Picks
After all this research, I started putting together my own picks. It’s not easy, with so many great players in the field, but I’m feeling pretty good about my choices. I spent all day on July 8th finalizing my strategy, thinking about how I’m going to place my bets.
Waiting for the Tournament
