Okay, so today I really wanted to catch the NASCAR race, but I wasn’t sure about the exact time or which channel it was on. I’m not a huge racing fan, but when I do watch, I like to know what’s going on, you know?
First thing I did was grab my phone and start searching. I typed in something like, “what time does NASCAR start today and what channel”.
I scrolled through a bunch of results, and started to piece things together.
It turns out that for most races, there are four main channels you need: Fox, FS1, NBC, and USA Network. These guys share the NASCAR coverage, so if you’re serious about watching every race, you’d want all four on your cable plan.
But here’s the kicker – for the big one, the NASCAR Cup Series Championship, it’s a bit different. It mentioned that this race usually starts at 3:00 p.m. ET on a Sunday. And get this, it’s often aired on NBC. For this weekend’s race, it’s actually going to be on NBC, too! There’s also radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, which is pretty cool if you’re into that.
And that wasn’t all, there was this one race called the “Cook Out Southern 500”. It was mentioned that it’s on USA Network with a pre-race show starting at 5:30 p.m. ET. So, depending on the specific race, the channel and time can change.

That’s pretty much what I found out today about catching NASCAR races. It’s not as simple as just one time and one channel, but it’s not rocket science either. Now I’m all set for the next race day!
