Well, let me tell you about this young fella, Brad Robbins. Heard he’s a football player, a punter they call him. Sounds like a fancy word for kickin’ the ball, I reckon. Born in, let’s see, 1998, makes him a young’un still. October 6th, that’s the day. He is a free agent, just a man without work.

Who is Brad Robbins? (Get to Know the Cincinnati Bengals Rising Star)

This Brad, he played for some team called the Michigan Wolverines in college. Big college team, I suppose. Then he got picked by the Cincinnati Bengals. That’s a big deal, getting picked like that in the draft. Some kinda special picking thing they do for these players. He was picked in the sixth round.

I heard he got hurt, though. Something about his leg, a quadriceps thing, real painful I bet. They put him on some list, Reserve/Injured they called it, in August of 2023. He had a four-year contract, but got hurt on August 27.

He’s back now, though, that Brad Robbins. They took him off that injured list and put him back on the active roster. That means he can play again, I guess. Hope that leg is all healed up. Gotta be tough, playin’ that rough game.

They say he signed a paper, a contract, with the Bengals. Worth a whole heap of money, too. More money than I ever seen in my life, that’s for sure. Something like $3,973,336. That is a lot of money. He got some of that money upfront, a bonus they called it, $133,336. And another $133,336 guaranteed. Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds good. And in 2024, he will get $495,000.

Now, the Bengals, they’ve had some good players in their time. Names I heard folks talkin’ about. Anthony Munoz, Boomer Esiason, and A.J. Green. Then there’s Geno Atkins, Chad Ochocinco, and Corey Dillon. Don’t forget about Andrew Whitworth, Ickey Woods, Tim Krumrie, and James Brooks. And Isaac Curtis, Cris Collinsworth, Carson Palmer, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, David Fulcher and Carl Pickens. Big names, I reckon. This Brad Robbins, he’s got big shoes to fill, playin’ with a team like that.

  • Born October 6, 1998
  • Played for Michigan Wolverines
  • Drafted by Cincinnati Bengals
  • Got hurt, put on injured list
  • Now back on active roster

They say his days in Cincinnati are numbered. Don’t know why, though. Maybe they ain’t happy with how he kicks that ball. This Brad Robbins fella is from Westerville, Ohio. I don’t know where that is, but it sounds far away.

This football, it’s a tough game. Lots of runnin’ and hittin’. Hope this Brad Robbins can handle it. He’s just a young fella, but he’s got a lot of folks watchin’ him, I reckon.

He played punter for six seasons for Michigan. That’s a long time, playin’ for one team. Must be pretty good at kickin’ that ball to play that long. They say he was the 217th pick overall in that draft thing. That’s a lot of fellas picked before him, I reckon. But he got a four-year contract from Bengals.

Hope he does well, this Brad Robbins. It’s a hard life, playin’ that game. But he’s makin’ more money than most folks ever dream of. Just hope he takes care of that leg. And himself, too. That’s the important thing. He is a free agent now, I really hope he can get a job soon.
